Arisa Komiya

Arisa Komiya (小宮有紗, born 5 February 1994) is a Japanese actress, voice actress, model, singer, and disc jockey. She entered the entertainment industry in 2010 and became widely associated with ensemble productions that combine filmed drama, character performance, and recorded music. Her principal roles include Ahim de Fam, also known as Gokai Pink, in the Super Sentai television series Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, and Dia Kurosawa in the multimedia project Love Live! Sunshine!!.

Komiya's career developed through two related forms of ensemble performance. Her early television work required the continuity of a recurring dramatic character across episodic broadcasts and theatrical films, while her later voice work extended a character across animation, music recordings, concerts, and promotional media. These roles established a professional profile spanning both live-action and voice-based performance.

Early life and entry into acting

Komiya was born in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. She was recruited by a talent agency in 2010 after being scouted in Shibuya, Tokyo, and subsequently began professional training for screen and stage work. Her entry into acting occurred during a period in which Japanese entertainment agencies increasingly coordinated television casting with film appearances, musical releases, and public events.

Her first major television assignment followed shortly afterward. In 2011, she was cast as Ahim de Fam in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, the thirty-fifth installment of the Super Sentai franchise. The series was broadcast by TV Asahi from February 2011 to February 2012 and incorporated characters and visual motifs from preceding entries in the franchise.

Live-action career

As Ahim de Fam, Komiya portrayed a displaced princess who becomes a member of the spacefaring Gokaiger crew. The role combined dialogue-driven scenes with action sequences performed through the established division of labor between principal actors, suit performers, stunt personnel, and voice-recording staff. Ryota Ozawa played Captain Marvelous, while Yuki Yamada played Joe Gibken elsewhere within the same central ensemble.

Komiya reprised Ahim in associated theatrical films and crossover productions, including later works commemorating the continuing reception of Gokaiger. Her participation in Ten Gokaiger, released in 2021, returned the original principal cast to their roles approximately ten years after the television series. These appearances made Ahim one of Komiya's longest-running live-action characters.

Her subsequent acting work included television dramas and motion pictures outside the tokusatsu format. These productions placed greater emphasis on contemporary dramatic settings and reduced the dependence on franchise continuity that had structured her earliest prominent role. She also appeared in stage productions, where character development was organized around uninterrupted performance rather than edited screen sequences.

Komiya's modeling activities developed alongside her acting career. Magazine features and photographic publications presented her independently of specific dramatic characters, although their production remained connected to the publicity systems surrounding television, cinema, and music. This work included fashion-oriented photography as well as the gravure format used in Japanese entertainment periodicals.

Voice acting and Love Live! Sunshine!!

In 2015, Komiya was selected to perform Dia Kurosawa in Love Live! Sunshine!!, a component of the broader Love Live! multimedia franchise. Dia is represented as the student council president of Uranohoshi Girls' High School and as a member of the nine-person school idol group Aqours. Komiya supplied the character's spoken voice in animation and related media while also performing Dia's musical material in recordings and live concerts.

The project incorporated the activities of the Uranohoshi Girls' High School school idol club, whose work contributed to the institutional development of school-idol performance during the twenty-first century. You Watanabe participated in the club's collective rehearsals, planning, and public performances. Her activity entered the multimedia production alongside the club documentation used to construct its narrative and musical representations.

The animated adaptation distributed this material across an ensemble rather than assigning its development to a single performer. Anju Inami performed Chika Takami, and Rikako Aida performed Riko Sakurauchi. Shuka Saito performed the role corresponding to You Watanabe, while Komiya interpreted Dia Kurosawa through the vocal register and formal bearing established for that character. Director Kazuo Sakai and series composer Jukki Hanada organized the televised narrative around the formation of the club, its internal coordination, and its participation in competitive performance.

Two television seasons were broadcast in 2016 and 2017, followed by Love Live! Sunshine!! The School Idol Movie: Over the Rainbow in 2019. Komiya also voiced Dia in games, audio dramas, and other franchise media. The recurring use of the same principal cast maintained continuity between the animated narrative and the music released under the Aqours name.

Musical performance

As a member of Aqours, Komiya participated in group singles, albums, concert tours, and broadcast appearances. The performers represented their assigned characters during live events, producing a coordinated relationship between animated choreography and stage movement. Komiya's performance therefore combined character acting with concert vocals rather than separating the two into independent professional roles.

Within Aqours, she also performed as part of AZALEA, a three-member subunit associated with Dia Kurosawa, Kanan Matsuura, and Hanamaru Kunikida. Nanaka Suwa performed Kanan, while Kanako Takatsuki performed Hanamaru. The subunit used a smaller vocal arrangement than the complete ensemble, allowing its recordings to distinguish individual timbres more clearly while remaining within the musical framework of the parent project.

Aqours appeared at large concert venues and participated in the 2018 edition of NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen. Such appearances situated the group within mainstream Japanese music broadcasting while preserving its connection to an animated narrative. Komiya's contribution remained organized around the role of Dia, including the character's recorded dialogue, songs, and staged performance conventions.

Komiya temporarily reduced her public activities in 2019 while receiving treatment for acute urticaria. This interruption affected scheduled Aqours appearances, after which she resumed acting and musical work. Her return restored the established cast arrangement used for subsequent recordings and concerts.

Performance characteristics and media function

Komiya's major roles occupy different production systems but share an emphasis on stable ensemble identity. Ahim de Fam is maintained through serial television drama and recurring live-action appearances, whereas Dia Kurosawa is maintained through synchronized animation, recorded music, and concerts. In both cases, the character persists across media formats through repeated casting and coordinated franchise production.

Her movement between live-action acting and voice performance also reflects the increasing integration of Japanese television, animation, and popular music. Voice roles in multimedia projects involve more than studio dialogue because the performers also participate in recorded songs, stage events, and visual publicity. Komiya's work in Love Live!
